Acorns: Ages 2 and under
Storytime With Anna-Lisa Alexander

Anna-Lisa Alexander will be leading our nursery class this semester with exciting unit themes based on classic children's books. There is no registration fee for children in our nursery class.

Sprouts: Ages 3-5

This semester, our Sprouts will have TWO classes with two new teachers! We have a wonderful room for our little Sprouts that has supplies and toys that encourage exploration and learning through play, as well as a beautiful outdoor space with a nature playscape!

Nature Studies
Melissa Rittenhouse
Arts & Crafts
Kadtie Wojo

We will be looking at various artists and recreating some masterpieces through hands on activities. A book about the artist or their work and a little information on the artist will also be included. This is more to get their feet wet with art and different styles of art, plus learning about different techniques, and learning through each piece of art. I have several activities for each artist, and how many activities we end up doing will probably be dependent on class size and student engagement, ie if they'd rather spend a lot of time on one piece or do several different pieces per class. Next to each artist are possible activities but final activities might not be decided until closer to class time. I would encourage kids to wear old clothes, possibly an old shirt from mom or dad, or a painters smock, depending on parent's prerogative.

Saplings: Ages 6-8

This is going to be an exciting class that combines reading, art, and science to teach about habitats and ecosystems. There will be fun experiments to see how animals life, art projects, and walks through our nature trails. See the Parents Connections page for a ull syllabus!

STEM LAB
Bethany Harcourt

This class will explore STEM topics through stories, hands-on experiments, group projects, and more! Each week, Miss Bethany will use fun stories and books to introduce a new topic.

Creative Writing and Drawing

Kids will have the opportunity to tell fun stories while flexing their writing muscles in this class. Miss Trisha will provide inspiration for fun writing and drawing projects, as well as offering support for kids who are new to writing.

Willows: Ages 9-11

Survival Camp
Brittany Phillips
Literature Circle
Heather Barnard

This class will cover a new topic each week to learn about safety, preparedness, and science. The first 6 weeks will focus on everyday dangers like fire, weather, strangers, and first aid. When we come back from Fall break, the last 6 weeks will be all about outdoor survival (including a "camp party" at the end of the semester.

While learning about preparedness, each student will be spending the semester creating an emergency bag and filling it with new supplies as we go along. For example, during first aid week, we will be creating compact first aid kits. These bags are great to have tucked in a closet in case of emergencies (flood, tornado, etc) or to grab and go for camping trips!

Along with survival know-how, kids will also be bringing home helpful tips for parents who might be interested!
