Our Staff

Every parent in the co-op is a staff member! Everyone is involved in whatever way they are most comfortable. We'd like to introduce you to the amazing folks that your children will see each week in their classes and our co-op coordinators that help the group run smoothly.

Director

Hello! I'm the person behind the scenes planning group events, managing the website, answering emails, and doing all the fun tech stuff to keep parents connected and up to date as our co-op grows. Another responsibility of being the online coordinator is helping parents and teachers with any social media or online based projects that they are working on for our kids, and introducing teachers to online tools that they can use to make their lessons more fun and connect parents to what is happening in the classrooms.

Also, I will be the teacher for the Willows art class for this semester!

I am a lover of science and admirer of the natural world. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences from West Virginia University. I have worked as a crime scene investigator, police officer, detective, and in community drug prevention. I have also completed Master’s coursework with the intent of obtaining a teaching degree focused on middle grade science after discovering my love of teaching. I am currently a stay-at-home mom raising two wonderful children in the woods of Brown County with our dog, cat, and aquatic frog. I enjoy hiking, camping, and observing the night sky from my back deck.

History brims full of exciting topics that remain relevant today, and I enjoy incorporating those into our homeschool with my two boys, Xander and George. Professionally, I provide nonfiction book reviews for Publishers’ Weekly, which allows me to keep up with the latest scholarship in European and American history. Before homeschooling, I spent several years tutoring all ages online for Tutor.com and earned my Masters in American/European history from ISU in 1999.
